Hanging Vintage Brass Cargo Pendant Light with Brass Cap

The wide brass dome on this hanging light sends the glow straight down in a nice even pool, perfect for making a dining table or boat deck feel cosy and inviting without wasting light upwards. Our vintage brass cargo pendant light is a real piece of ship history that looks beautiful swinging gently from its chain. It brings that proper maritime feel into homes and boats across the UK and Europe, and the glass globe inside the cage keeps everything safe and bright.

Yes, this pendant works wonderfully wherever you need focused light from above. It feels solid when you hold it and adds a lovely golden warmth that makes any space feel more welcoming and seafaring.

Made from Solid Marine-Grade Brass

The dome shade and body are crafted from high-quality solid brass that has already sailed on cargo ships. The protective cage around the clear glass globe keeps the bulb safe while letting light shine through cleanly. At 1.8 kilograms the whole fitting feels reassuringly heavy and well made.

These lights originally hung in working cargo vessels from the mid-1900s. We salvaged each one and restored it carefully in Europe. You will see small natural differences in the brass finish and marks on every light – that is what makes yours truly unique and full of real sea-going character.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you pack and send the vintage brass cargo pendant light?

Yes, we wrap it carefully in protective foam and place it in a strong box. Every order to the UK and Europe is fully insured and tracked so it arrives safely at your door.

Q: Is this a real old ship light or a new copy?

It is 100 per cent authentic, salvaged from working cargo vessels in the mid-1900s and carefully restored in Europe. Every piece carries genuine marks from its time at sea.

Q: Can I use it outdoors or in a damp area?

Yes, the IP56 rating means it handles rain, sea spray and dust without any trouble. Customers happily use them on yachts, garden terraces and exposed ceilings all over the UK and Europe.

Q: How easy is it to hang from the ceiling?

It comes ready with a strong hook so you can attach it to a chain or beam in seconds. We recommend getting a qualified electrician to check the wiring. The E27 holder takes standard bulbs so you can choose the light you like best.

Q: Can I order several for a restaurant or yacht club?

Yes, we love sorting bulk orders for bars, hotels, yacht clubs or coastal homes. Just send us a message and we will work out good pricing and delivery details.

Q: How do I keep the brass looking nice?

A quick wipe with a soft cloth keeps it clean most days. For extra shine you can use a gentle brass polish made for marine items. Many people actually like the natural patina that develops – it makes the light look even more authentic.
