Vintage Heavy Brass Bulkhead Wall Light with Cage

Picture this: you fix it to the wall outside your coastal cottage or on the side of your boat, switch it on, and suddenly you have that warm, proper nautical glow that makes everything feel like a proper adventure. Our heavy brass bulkhead light brings exactly that feeling into homes and spaces across the UK and Europe. It is solid, handsome, and built to last just like the originals that lit up ships for decades.

Yes, this lamp is a real favourite for people who love authentic maritime style. Whether you are lighting up a garden path in Devon, a yacht deck in the Mediterranean, or adding character to a hallway in London, it looks right at home and works brilliantly.

Made from Solid Marine-Grade Brass

The whole fitting is crafted from high-quality solid brass that feels wonderfully heavy in your hands. At 3 kilograms you know straight away this is no lightweight copy – it has that reassuring premium build that only real marine lights carry. The design comes straight from classic Wiska bulkhead lights used on working cargo vessels and fishing boats from the 1950s right through to the 1980s.

We salvaged each one from ships, restored it carefully in Europe, and kept every mark of its sea-going life. The protective cage over the glass globe keeps the bulb safe while letting the light shine through beautifully. You will notice small natural differences in the brass colour and patina on every lamp – that is what makes yours truly unique and full of character.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you pack and send this heavy brass bulkhead light?

Yes, we wrap it really well in lots of protective foam and place it in a strong double-walled box. Every order to the UK and Europe is fully insured and tracked so it arrives safely at your door.

Q: Is this a real old ship light or a new copy?

It is 100 per cent authentic, salvaged from working vessels and carefully restored in Europe. Every piece carries the genuine marks of its time at sea, not a modern replica made to look old.

Q: Can I use it outside in the rain?

Yes, the IP56 rating means it handles rain, sea spray and dust without any trouble. Customers use them happily on boats, garden walls and exposed porches all over the UK and Europe.

Q: Is it easy to fit at home?

It fixes to the wall with a simple bracket. We recommend getting a qualified electrician to check the wiring because these are original fittings from ships. The E27 holder takes standard bulbs so you can choose warm or bright light.

Q: Can I buy more than one for a restaurant or hotel?

Yes, we love doing bulk orders for bars, hotels, yacht clubs or coastal homes. Just send us a message and we will sort out good pricing and delivery details.

Q: How do I keep the brass looking nice?

A quick wipe with a soft cloth keeps it clean most of the time. If you want extra shine you can use a gentle brass polish made for marine items. Many people actually prefer the natural patina that develops – it makes the light look even more authentic and lived-in.
