Vintage Aluminium Cage Pendant Light Nautical

Imagine hanging this solid light from the ceiling in your hallway or on your boat and feeling like you have stepped straight onto a classic ship. Our vintage aluminium cage pendant does exactly that. It is a real salvaged piece from the mid-1900s that brings proper nautical history into homes and spaces across the UK and Europe.

Yes, this heavy pendant is a favourite for people who love authentic maritime style. It looks handsome, feels built to last, and gives a lovely soft glow through the caged glass globe.

Made from Solid Marine-Grade Aluminium

The whole fitting is crafted from tough marine-grade aluminium that has already proved itself at sea. At 3.7 kilograms you know straight away this is no lightweight copy – it has that reassuring premium build. The design comes from passageway lights on working vessels in the mid-1900s.

We salvaged each one from ships and restored it carefully in Europe. The protective cage over the textured glass globe keeps the bulb safe while letting the light shine beautifully. You will notice small natural differences in the aluminium finish and patina on every lamp – that is what makes yours truly unique and full of real sea-going character.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you pack and send this heavy aluminium cage pendant?

Yes, we wrap it really well with lots of protective foam and place it in a strong double-walled box. Every order to the UK and Europe is fully insured and tracked so it arrives safely.

Q: Is this a real old ship light or a modern copy?

It is 100 per cent authentic, salvaged from working vessels in the mid-1900s and carefully restored in Europe. Every piece carries genuine marks from its life at sea.

Q: Can I use it in a damp area or outside?

Yes, the IP56 rating means it handles rain, sea spray and dust without any trouble. Customers use them happily on boats, garden porches and exposed hallways all over the UK and Europe.

Q: How easy is it to hang at home?

It comes ready with a large sturdy hook so you can hang it from a chain or beam in seconds. We recommend getting a qualified electrician to check the wiring because these are original fittings from ships. The E27 holder takes standard bulbs.

Q: Can I buy several for a restaurant or yacht club?

Yes, we are happy to sort bulk orders for bars, hotels, yacht clubs or coastal homes. Just send us a message and we will work out good pricing and delivery.

Q: How do I keep the aluminium looking nice?

A quick wipe with a soft cloth keeps it clean most days. For a deeper clean you can use a gentle metal polish made for marine items. Many people actually like the natural patina that develops – it makes the light look even more authentic and lived-in.
