The Story Behind This Authentic Nautical Thailand Ship Flag

This nautical Thailand ship flag was removed from a working vessel that was being cut up for scrap. The banner looks exactly the same as the day it was found. It has never been washed, so you see the real colours, folds and texture that only years at sea can create.

Crafted from tough marine fabric, it shows the classic Thailand design of five horizontal stripes: red at the top and bottom, white next, a wider blue band in the centre, then white and red again. Thai ships flew flags like this as their national ensign during voyages. We reclaimed it and brought it to Europe with only light restoration to keep every original detail. Notice how solid and heavy the fabric feels – nothing like thin modern copies.

Collectors and designers in the United Kingdom and Europe love these pieces because each one tells a true maritime story. Pair it with our vintage maritime signal flags or nautical decorations for a complete authentic look.
